Practical Conflict Management

This course will focus on the principles and practices of conflict analysis, management, and resolution. Specifically, we will focus on the sources of conflict, conflict management styles, positions and interests, and management and resolution techniques. By the end of the course, students will have a skill set to help them achieve positive outcomes in conflict management and resolution.

Note:

Traci L. Suiter, Ph.D., has her doctorate from Cornell University in linguistics with a minor in cognitive science as well as a graduate certificate in conflict analysis and resolution from George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Dr. Suiter has been teaching for nearly 15 years and has taught at Cornell University, Johns Hopkins University, and The George Washington University. For over a decade, Dr. Suiter has been mediating employee-manager disputes in the federal government, and before moving back to Wisconsin, was also a mediator in the General District Court of Virginia.
